samba - Mar 2015 - Recommended stations on a server and slave domain controller

That was an information given by my colleague following a discussion 
with the community but that was more an advise than a recommendation.

The server is a PDC.

Actually, we want to make a test with 5000 machines and we wanted to 
know if it has been done before and try to have some feedback (mainly in 
terms of performance) for a configuration like this.

Samba 4 <-> DC Slave Samba 4.
The DC_SLAVE role doesn't seems to exist for the moment.

I still don't understand what you're meaning. A trust between an NT4 
domain and AD? Replication between NT4 domain and AD? A PDC/BDC setup? ...?


In your initial mail you talked about AD. Now you're saying you have a 
PDC, what indicates that you're running an NT4 domain and not an AD.


Please give some detailed information about the goal you want to achieve.

Hi Marc, I think the OP is referring to the AD DC that has the 'PDC 
emulator' fsmo role, I also think what he is referring to as a 
'DC_SLAVE' is either a 'RODC' or a secondary DC. You are right
though,
he needs to explain better what he is trying to achieve.

Hello Marc,

Sorry for the confusion, AD is the current solution installed and used.

The goal we want to achieve is to install a configuration for a lot of
users (about 100 000) with one master domain.
So we thought that it may be possible to have a principal domain and
several slave domains.

If this configuration can't be considered, we want to know if it's a
feature that we could contribute.

And sorry again for not being clear enough at first, I appreciate your
help.
