pkg kde talk - Dec 2007 - konsole4 and /dev/ptmx problem

This mail is for getting it recorded someplace and talk whether this is a real
issue.

We had the problem of konsole4 not working in i386, this is because I built
the package in amd64 using a i386 pbuilder/cowbuilder and it does not have
/dev/ptmx.

But both my systems amd64 and i386 have /dev/ptmx, my i386 pbuilder/cowbuilder
enviroment on my i386 machine has this as well. So, could be this an issue
with the build enviroment or what? 
If you have a i386 pbuilder on amd64 could you check if you have this?

  are you sure it fails with a plain non-cowbuilder pbuilder ?

  FWIW /dev/ptmx may not be enough, you may need the devpts pseudo FS
that isn''t always loop-mounted, and that behaves oddly when it does
anyways. At least that''s my experience, and I''ve always tried
to kept
myself as far as possible from terminal technologies, pseudo or real
ones ;)
