dovecot - Jun 2016 - Custom storage backend

Hello,

We use a storage backend that is using non-standard apis.

We would like to know if there is some way to write a storage backend as a
plugin instead of hardcoding our changes directly into the dovecot source ?

You want to look at lib-fs I guess and you can probably get somewhere by looking
at existing plugins.

Unfortunately this is not documented as well as it perhaps should be.
