Eventmachine talk - Mar 2008 - undefined method `associate_callback_target''

Using the latest from trunk, I get a strange error when using event machine.
This happens after I''ve started my EM server and I then try to connect
to
it:

/usr/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/eventmachine.rb:1235:in `new'': undefined
method
`associate_callback_target'' for
#<#<Class:0xb7edaf14>:0xb7ec45fc>
(NoMethodError)

However, running the process with root privileges resolves this. Any ideas
why?
