-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I've been trying to install Freelancer and Dungeon Siege - LoA using wine, but both "hang" about 15% into the install. By "hang" I mean they cease to install but background installer music is still running and it is reacting to clicking "cancel" although it doesn't really cancel. Anyone gotten any of those two titles to install? They're both Microsoft produced games so I was thinking there might be something in the installer which makes wine croak. I've tried running wine with --debugmsg +module but there's nothing obvious in the debug output. - -- Regards, Tais M. Freelancer uses directx 9, so for now it won't work in wine. I don't know if DS-LoA uses directx9, if not, install the game on a windows computer, and copy the game directory over to your wine fake windows partition. Ivan.
Answering to list because all messages to tais.hansen(AT)osd.dk are rejected as SPAM:(> Does that however mean that DX8 games are running reasonably well with wine?Directx 8 is partially implemented, and quite a few directx 8 games work, so if you have one you might as well try it.
