CentOS - Apr 2007 - virt-install can't work with phy:/dev/bla/bla. bug or feature?

in centos 5 final virt-install offer only file-based disk for domUs, but in
centos 5 beta I could
use phy:/dev/... I can't see any common sense in this "feature"
(if it's not a bug, 'cose). Share
your considerations, please.
