[llvm-dev] [Job Ad] Unity is hiring a LLVM compiler engineer
Hi, Unity is the creator of the world’s most widely-used real-time 3D (RT3D) development platform, providing content creators around the world with the tools they need to build rich, interactive 2D, 3D, VR and AR experiences. In fact apps made with Unity reach 2.7 billion devices worldwide, and were installed more than 24 billion times in the last 12 months. The Unity Data-Oriented Design team builds the tools to give developers the capability to create those experiences and tools to enable others to do so. Our goals are to enable best in-class hardware usage and optimizations that can scale from tiny games running on smart watches, to large scale experiences in a way that’s fully accessible to our audience. We are looking for a LLVM compiler engineer that will join the "burst" compiler project at Unity, a technology aimed at compiling .NET/IL code to native code using LLVM, allowing our users to develop faster game, machine learning or multimedia experience. If you want to know more about this project, you can have a look at the following slides made for a few talks about "burst" last year: https://xoofx.com/blog/2019/03/28/behind-the-burst-compiler/ In in the exciting topics that we would like to challenge in the coming years, we have the goal of writing a solid auto-vectorizer for our constrained environment/usecases - similar to ISPC. You can apply to the job here: https://careers.unity.com/position/senior-compiler-engineer-/1453897 Unlike stated in the position offer, remote work is possible or you can also work from one of the many offices of Unity around the world. Our team is already working with remote folks. Note also that we will have someone from Unity at EuroLLVM next April 8-9, so if you want to directly discuss about this job with him, feel free to contact me directly at alexandre at unity3d.com and I will put you in contact with him Please forward this to anyone who may be interested.
