[Adduser-devel] Bug#287535: adduser: letter as first character should not be required
Package: adduser Version: 3.59 Severity: minor Even when using --force-badname, while dropping all usual restrictions, adduser insists on enforcing the use of a letter as first character. This is not required by useradd, and thus should be allowed. There is not really a reason to not allow it. Josef -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, ''unstable'') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Kernel: Linux 2.6.9-powerpc Locale: LANG=pt_BR, LC_CTYPE=pt_BR (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages adduser depends on: ii debconf 1.4.39 Debian configuration management sy ii passwd 1:4.0.3-30.2 Change and administer password and ii perl-base 5.8.4-5 The Pathologically Eclectic Rubbis -- debconf information excluded
