A minute for the commit, half an hour to get your name into the
changelog without mangling it. I hope that I finally got it right by
scp''ing the changelog to my local workstation and using a graphical
editor in UTF-8 mode. A pity that our console tools don''t seem to be
up to the task of editing UTF-8 text files.

Hmm.

I do:
Settings -> Encoding -> unicode (utf8)
LC_ALL=ro_RO.UTF-8 LANG=ro_RO.UTF-8 vi debian/po/ro.po
:set encoding=utf-8

And I see a ? (I have no idea if that will render - it is a smallish
circle above the midline).  I''m not sure what''s going wrong
for you.  I
have been assuming that that''s what I''m supposed to see, but
maybe I''m
wrong.  Certainly the rest of the file contains none of the usual broken
encoding type characters ([34m, e.g.).

But all of this is probably wandering off topic :)
