Package: adduser Version: 3.105 Severity: normal Hi, $ sudo deluser --remove-home xmppgw Looking for files to backup/remove ... Removing files ... Removing user xmppgw'' ... Warning: Removing group nogroup'', since no other user is part of it. Done. $ I do not think that it is a good idea to have adduser remove "nogroup" or any other group that is part of the default install. Greetings Marc

Can you check if this group still exists on the machine you encountered this issue? (deluser currently spits out this warning but does actually nothing about that empty group ...)
