Hello everyone I''m delighted to announce that Weft QDA version 1.0.0 is now available to download from http://www.pressure.to/qda/ This is (I hope) a first stable release of Weft that can be recommended for general use. As such, there''s no new software features in this release. It includes a few bug fixes, most notably one that could hinder copying and pasting from Weft; it''s therefore a recommended upgrade from 0.9.8. More importantly, the user manual has been comprehensively updated and expanded, and is also now available in a handsome PDF format for printing out - see the links on the homepage. If you have a few moments in the next day or two, I''d be grateful if you could download the package and give it a quick spin, just so I can catch any last minute problems before making a wider announcement. Many thanks to all who''ve helped get Weft QDA this far by trying it out and sending in bugs and suggestions. Interest in Weft has steadily grown, and nearly 2000 copies of the software have now been downloaded - over 400 of these just in 2006 so far. I''m looking for testers for a Linux all-in-one binary, so please drop me a line if interested. As regards future development of Weft, there will be no major new features added to the 1.0 series - there may be bug fixes released as version 1.0.1, 1.0.2 etc. I''ve already started work on Weft version 1.2, which should have lots of new goodies. I''ll send more info on this shortly, but expect an experimental 1.1.0 release some time in the next few months. As ever, I''m eager to hear your ideas for improvements, so please do send them in to the list. cheers alex
