It shouldn''t be especially slow, but it depends on how long it takes  
for the GUI to get time scheduled to it. If your application isn''t  
using threads, you might try turning off FXRuby support for Ruby  
threads:

	app.threadsEnabled = false

Another option would be to look at Joel VanDerWerf''s FoxTails library  
(see RAA for this).

Maybe another option is to use:

app.forceRefresh

This works fine for me.

By the way, Lyle, I think Fox 1.7 has got a new event-dispatch structure being
put in place, based on a new FXReactor class, right? This is supposed to
speed-up the refresh?
