A question was posed during a session at SUSECon: Does Xen support "huge page sizes"? I have no more detail than that at the moment. If anyone happens to have an answer within the next hour, I should be able to relay the answer to the man who is sitting in the room near me. Thanks. _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xen.org http://lists.xen.org/xen-devel

Thanks.I believe Xen hypervisor supports 2MB and 1GB hugepages. You should be able to find that info from the "xm dmesg" or "xl dmesg" hypervisor boot logs. -- Pasi

Thanks. The hypervisor for itself does, and for HVM guests they''re supported too (and then equally for the upcoming PVH ones). There''s an optional feature (of unknown quality) to also allow the use of huge pages in PV guests (requiring at least a balloon driver in the guest that''s aware of this), but personally I''d recommend staying away from that. Pasi & Jan, Thanks for the responses. I passed on Pasi''s info to the attendee who intended to check it out in the "lab" on the show floor. Jim Fehlig will likely be assisting the gentleman in the inquiry. Thanks again.
