Hi there, recently I was doing my own drag and drop UI when I realized I could just join the effort here. I''m also interested in integrating prototype.js and the related UI libraries as a component of a framework that I work with. My question is about how contributions back to the community work. I noticed the track issues, but is there a developers overview, a list of who the committers are, and general guidelines for contributing? That would help me determine how best to work with the various projects. Thanks much, - Leon
Heya, You might want to check out http://wiki.script.aculo.us/scriptaculous/show/Development Note that while I guess not much will make it into the scriptaculous "core" distribution, I can really imagine adding a plugins directory to it, and distributing various addons with the scriptaculous download. Would anyone be there be any interest in setting up something similar (like openjsan.org) for prototype/scriptaculous libraries that others can contribute. Right now, when someone comes into the fold, they have to look all over the web/mailing archives/delicious to find some of the cool stuff that others have done. This would bring them all into one place (each can still have their own homepage too if they want) and make them easier to compare. It would also help module authors to not step on others'' namespaces. Then the cream would rise to the top and could be included in a /plugins dir within scriptaculous itself. But it would also allow the authors of those libs to make updates/releases independent of scriptaculous. Just some thoughts. -- Michael Peters Developer Plus Three, LP
