[Puppet Users] Latest Puppet Enterprise + Debian Lenny nodes?
Hi there, Would it be possible to run Puppet Enterprise and manage nodes based on Debian Lenny? I know the OS is end of life and not supported by Puppet (as in the company) and of course I don''t expect any support. Would it still be possible to use it, even with a limited set of capabilities like deploying users, restarting services maybe? Thanks in advance. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. Really no one bothers to answer or is it just a totally stupid question? :-) Thanks ;-) On Monday, 29 July 2013 12:05:21 UTC+1, Marco Cancedda wrote:> > Hi there, > > Would it be possible to run Puppet Enterprise and manage nodes based on > Debian Lenny? > > I know the OS is end of life and not supported by Puppet (as in the > company) and of course I don''t expect any support. > > Would it still be possible to use it, even with a limited set of > capabilities like deploying users, restarting services maybe? > > Thanks in advance. >-- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. Hi, puppet doesn''t have many requirements. Chief among them is ruby 1.8, which Debian 5 has, so it shouldn''t be very hard to get it working. Re: [Puppet Users] Re: Latest Puppet Enterprise + Debian Lenny nodes?
Thanks for your answer. I still wonder if the enterprise version has any special requirement (satisfied by the binary itself rather than third party libraries) that would prevent the old agent to work correctly with the enterprise infrastructure.
