Hi List, I have a new install of CentOS 6.2 and shorewall 4.5.1-2. I usually have no issues with shorewall until now. When I execute < #shorewall start > I get the following error. root@poweredge > /etc/shorewall# shorewall start Compiling... Can''t locate Shorewall/Compiler.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/share/shorewall /usr/local/lib/perl5 /usr/local/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 .) at /usr/share/shorewall/compiler.pl line 45. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/shorewall/compiler.pl line 45. I am by no means a perl wizard so this is got me stumped. Anyone have any ideas where to or what to look at? I did some searching and I *think* you need perl-digest-sha1. Either way it won''t hurt to install it and see if that''s it, and if it isn''t it can surely be easily uninstalled. I suspect that the OP installed the RPM which is SuSE-specific. -Tom You do not need a parachute to skydive. This is the same way I have been installing shorewall since I can remember. What I ended up doing was upgrading to the rc of 4.5.2 and all is fine. I would still like to have some idea as to what I was doing wrong. BTW thank you and whomever else helps on this project. I have used it for about 8 to 10 years. It is a work of art.
