I personally use /etc/shorewall/vardir and /etc/shorewall-lite/vardir
and they work as expected. So in order to fix this problem, I need to
know what you are running.
Hint 1: /sbin/shorewall version -a
Hint 2: If that command produces an error, then you are running a
version of Shorewall that is much too old to support /etc/shorewall/vardir.
