Hi everybody,
I''ve read the list of Ruby on Rails projects and I saw that one of the
ideas
was about a new (or improved) ruby-debug that would work with Ruby 1.9.
Although it''s probably the most difficult idea in the whole list, I
find it
really interesting and I''d like to help out as much as I can.
I''ve been working with Rails for almost 2 years now, but I came to
Rails
after learning Ruby (and at that moment I was also working part-time for a
local .NET shop) and not the other way around, as most people probably do.
And this project would allow me to give something back to the community
while I could learn even more about Ruby and its inner workings.
Before applying as a student for ruby-debug, I''d like to have a chat
with
one of the possible mentors. I have little knowledge about the way
ruby-debug works and I''d like to have a more detailed picture of what
needs
to be done and how I could help. I see that the only person listed as a
mentor for ruby-debug is "r" (who I''m assuming is Rocky
Bernstein) so if "r"
could ping me in any way, I''d be grateful!
Thank you,
Andrei Maxim
