Rails spinoffs - May 2008 - Set value of dom element using prototype.js

(super easy, n00b prototype.js question) Hi All: I have the following
<div id="foo"></div> in the DOM. Is there any protoype.js
method that
I can invoke from Javascript to set the value of foo to something (For
e.g.: "<b>bar</b>"). Thanks.
