Hi, A problem that is driving me crazy: - 1 firewall between 3 ranges, (internet, workstations, servers) - 1 script, iptables rules default policies set to DROP Everything works, workstations can mount samba shares from a server with "net use" - I replace the script with iptables rules with shorewall, set same policies & rules Everything works except the net use giving me a "The format of the specified network name is invalid" Wich is weird, coz I actually get it working with the first firewall. It is not me forgetting to allow the traffic on ports 137:139,445, because I watch the shorewall logs And see no All2all or other problem occuring Have any of you ever meet this problem before? Know a solution? Only 2 things are possible, bad config or shorewall doesn''t manage the forwards/policies/etc.. Like I suspected him to. I hope it''s not the way I do masquerading... eth0 eth5.52 eth0 eth5.53 eth0 eth5.54 eth0 eth3 All help/info is more than welcome! Once we have the information that is requested there, we will try to help you. -Tom PS -- Please see http://www.shorewall.net/Samba.htm for instructions for debugging SMB problems. By default, the Shorewall-generated ruleset does not log any SMB traffic when your policies reject or drop that traffic. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net PGP Public Key \ https://lists.shorewall.net/teastep.pgp.key ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
