For a propper mailserver, use Cyrus-imapd. There''s rpms for it on the
''net. Cyrus does not runs as root and the users do not need to be users
on the system in question. Also, Cyrus uses sasl for authenticvation so
you got a lot of options (ldap, mysql, krb5, passwd, sasldb).
