In this position, you''ll work in a dynamic start-up environment, engaging directly with clients to help launch their online products. You''ll report directly to a founding partner and you''ll be positioned to have a big impact on both our company and our clients. And you''ll get to work on some of the most innovative work being done in the operations space today. Responsibilities: • Establish, support and manage end-to-end IT operations and infrastructure for several clients. • Engage directly with customers on their ongoing technical challenges in a professional and courteous manner. • Participate in pre-sales technical discussions and actively contribute to the acquisition of new clients. • Contribute your expertise on a variety of topics, including: scalable web architectures, automation, networking, database management, application deployment, identity management, systems security, and monitoring & trending. • Assist in the development of new automation, tools, and systems to enhance our offerings and meet our client''s needs. Required qualifications: • 6-8 years experience in a production operations role. • Experience with Red Hat and Debian based Linux distributions (CentOS, Ubuntu) required. • Experience running production infrastructures for high-availability, high-volume web sites. • Expertise with TCP/IP, load balancing, reverse-proxies, Cisco routers, VLANs, and firewalls. • Proficient in basic database administration using MySQL and PostgreSQL. • Expertise with Apache required. • Programming ability in one of: Ruby, Perl, or Python. • Superb verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable interacting with customers on a regular basis. Optional qualifications: • Familiarity with Puppet and Capistrano. • Familiarity with LDAP. • Familiarity with Nagios, Munin, Cacti. • Familiarity with application frameworks (Ruby on Rails, Tomcat, JBOSS, Django, PHP) a big plus. • BS in Computer Science preferred but not required.
