Package: xen-hypervisor-4.1-amd64 Version: 4.1.4-2 Severity: important I've installed wheezy Linux successfully (ref. bug 703469). Installed xen-linux-system-amd64, with the diversion in http://wiki.debian.org/Xen#Prioritise_Booting_Xen_Over_Native followed by "grub-install". Xen appears to boot (messages go by fast), then I get a blank screen, followed seconds later by a reboot. No messages redolent of Linux. / is on dm-crypt, if that matters; a straight Linux boot finds it. I notice in /boot/grub/grub.cfg, the menuentrys for Xen are missing the "load_video" and "insmod gzio" that straight Linux has, if that matters.
On advice from xen-users, I bought a null modem cable and tried http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/Xen_Serial_Console . Got no output on the serial. I booted the target in Linux (sans Xen) and tested the connection with minicom on both ends. Works.
Added the lspci output: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=703469#20
Using a cheap video camera, at 60fps, the last lines that I can discern before the screen goes blank is (XEN) Dom0 has maximum 1 VCPUs (XEN) Scrubbing Free RAM: . I don't see the "...done." part as in http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/Xen_Serial_Console#How_does_the_serial_console_log_look_like.3F I'm out of debugging options here, as you can see. Next step will be to blow away wheezy and try squeeze if I don't hear from you guys soon.
