i downloaded the vorbis, ogg & example files and compiled them and now have an executable called 'vorbisfile' that turns 'test.ogg' into 'out.pcm'. is there some simple way to test the out.pcm file in winXP? ~~~~~~~ bob hurt I can't stand cheap people. It makes me real mad when someone says something like "Hey, when are you going to pay me that hundred dollars you owe me?" or "Do you have that fifty dollars you borrowed?" If you mean test as in play them windows media center would play them (or at least i'd hope so) if not you can download winamp2 (www.winamp.com) and play them with that. (i hate useing Windows Media Center for audio so i never use it) Chris Bob Hurt wrote:> i downloaded the vorbis, ogg & example files and compiled them and now > have an executable called 'vorbisfile' that turns 'test.ogg' into > 'out.pcm'. is there some simple way to test the out.pcm file in winXP? > > ~~~~~~~ > bob hurt > > I can't stand cheap people. You can try downloading Audacity, a free audio editor, from here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/windows.php?lang=en Then import the file as described here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/docs1.1/menu_project.html#importraw If the program cannot guess the sample rate and size automatically (probaby not), try 44100 Hz, 16 bit, signed, stereo, little-endian and 0-byte offset. You should then be able to play, modify and save the file as .wav. It can even export to .ogg. :) Most other sound editing programs (e.g. Cool Edit, SoundForge) provide a similar function.
