Hi, Peter Pawlowski's new (1.15beta) winamp decoder plugin seems quite nice, in my opinion.. The "title formatting logic" is what I've been dreaming of for ages.. Right now I've chosen "%artist / [[%[abbr20]album][-%[num2]tracknumber] / ]%title[ - %version]" I get titles such as "Artist / Title"or "Artist / Album / Title" or "Artist / Album-Track / Title - Version", based on the amount of data I've put into the tags.. (Plus I get abbreviated album names if they're too long, and I get my tracknumbers padded with zeroes if they're too short..) I'd love to see something like this with the XMMS plugin.. : ) (hint hint) ps. How do *you* title your songs? I'd love to hear some opinions please.. --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. Hi, kjoonlee@hitel.net wrote:> Hi, Peter Pawlowski's new (1.15beta) winamp decoder plugin seems quite > nice, in my opinion.. > The "title formatting logic" is what I've been dreaming of for ages..I am using XMMS 1.2.5 which has (basic) title formatting: %p - Performer/Artist %a - Album %g - Genre %f - File name %F - File path %e - File extension %t - Track name %n - Track number %d - Date %y - Year %c - Comment Further more, the ogg vorbis input plugin (under Audio I/O Plugins, click on "configure") can override the generic title settings to be OGG specific.> ps. How do *you* title your songs? I'd love to hear some opinions please..Single songs: ".../(artist) - songname.ogg" Albums: ".../artist/album/01. trackname.ogg" (generated with grip from http://nostatic.org/grip/) Bastian --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. I name my files: Artist / year_Record Title / 01_Song Name.ogg or for double-cds: Artist / year_Record Title / 1-01_Song Name.ogg 1-02_Song Name.ogg 2-01_Song Name.ogg 2-02_Song Name.ogg and for compilations: Various / Record Title / 1-01_Artist One__Song Name.ogg 2-15_Artist Thirty__Song Name.ogg and for splits: (very common in the punkscene - two bands sharing one record) Splits / Artist1 + Artist2 / Record Title / 01-1_Song With Artist1.ogg 02-1_Song With Artist1.ogg 03-2_Song With Artist2.ogg Personally I would like to have a standard RECORDNUMBER tag, or whatever you want to call it, which contains the record# in a double/triple CD! (That should also be a feature of freedb so we don't get different "standards" for every record, eg Record (Disc 1), Record [CD 1], Record CD#2, CD3: Record etc...) Regards Per Wigren If everybody just shut up and use MY standard, life is simpler for everybody! :-D --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body.
