SECURITY ENGINEER, STAFF If you have a passion for security. You dive into the details of how of the Internet works. You want to make significant contributions to the security of the Internet, and will persevere to ensure that the core routers, switches, and firewalls are protected. Join the ramp up and launch of the Juniper Secure Development team. Our charter is enhance the system security and resilience of Juniper products through the methodical application of security engineering techniques. RESPONSIBILITIES In the Security Engineer role, you will own the security of a set of network devices or software solutions. You will develop detailed threat models, and conduct attack surface area analyses. You will become intimate with the products, at the system level, and drive the process of penetration testing. You will contribute to the security design of new features and evaluate the security impact of product changes. You will also drive security reviews and holistic risk assessments of the products before they are delivered to customers. You will collaborate across organizational, functional, and security boundaries, acting as a security enabler, a "security buddy", and a security evangelist. This is a green field opportunity on a new team within Juniper's core engineering organization. You will be expected to proceed with both engineering discipline and a high degree of creativity. You will be expected to implement standard security engineering methods and empowered to devise novel methods and approaches: whatever it takes to improve the empirical security posture of products deployed in the field. REQUIREMENTS * Experience and expertise with system security, network security, threat modeling, ethical hacking, and secure coding practices * Ability to conduct in-depth product security analyses with the goal of not only finding issues but devising counter-measures * Must have working experience with FreeBSD or Junos, the TCP/IP stack, and network protocols. * Must have working experience in several of the following: firewalls, protocol fuzzing, forensic analysis, applied cryptography, hardware security, test automation, hardware security modules, TLS/SSH/IPsec, Common Criteria and FIPS security evaluations * Strong written and verbal communication skills; security publications and/or presentations a plus * Prefer candidates local to Juniper headquarters in Sunnyvale but will consider remote work and telecommuting candidates CONTACT Seth Ross, Director Junos Security seth at juniper.net
