For porting some (time series related) software from S-plus, I need solve() {i.e. solve.qr() } to work with complex matrices. I have had a similar request for this from a local user a while back already. Till R-1.x.y {at least x=y=0} we have had complex Linpack and BLAS in R's sources src/appl/z*.f but never had an R interface anyway and subsequently have dropped it. Should we have a package or a `module' (new in R-1.3) for providing complex linear algebra in R? Has anyone done some of the work already? R-devel readers, thanks for your support!
