[Lustre-discuss] Where to download Lustre from since 01 Aug?
Dear all, after the migration of the Sun downloads website to Oracle, I couldn''t find a place anymore where I can actually download anything lustre related. Can someone point me to a site which still works after August 1st? Hi, you can download Whamcloud Lustre releases from here: http://downloads.whamcloud.com Regards Liang On Aug 4, 2011, at 8:03 PM, Torsten Harenberg wrote:> Dear all, > > after the migration of the Sun downloads website to Oracle, I couldn''t > find a place anymore where I can actually download anything lustre > related. > > Can someone point me to a site which still works after August 1st? > > Thanks > > Torsten > > > > -- > <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> > <> <> > <> Dr. Torsten Harenberg harenberg at physik.uni-wuppertal.de <> > <> Bergische Universitaet <> > <> FB C - Physik Tel.: +49 (0)202 439-3521 <> > <> Gaussstr. 20 Fax : +49 (0)202 439-2811 <> > <> 42097 Wuppertal <> > <> <> > <><><><><><><>< Of course it runs NetBSD http://www.netbsd.org ><> > > > _______________________________________________ > Lustre-discuss mailing list > Lustre-discuss at lists.lustre.org > http://lists.lustre.org/mailman/listinfo/lustre-discuss

I see a previous post regarding this. Since Oracle decommissioned the Sun Download Center, all links for downloading Lustre appear to go in circles, always bringing you back to a page that has no path to anything Lustre related. Does anyone have any insights as to where Oracle buried it?

Is there a whamcloud version of a lustre-1.8.5.tar.gz or 1.8.6 that I can use to build rpms for RedHat/CentOS 6? (Specifically CentOS 6, 2.6.32-71.29.1.el6.x86_64) Thanks! Thanks Richard! Using the 1.8.6 CentOS 5 instructions I was able to successfully use git, configure, make rpms for what I needed. The "Provision Machine" instructions were followed exactly, and since I only needed client rpms, I skipped to the "Configure and Build Lustre" section, which produced the rpm''s I needed. Installing the RPM''s was smooth, and after install Lustre mounted. One oddity, there is no /etc/modprobe.conf file to enter lnet options in, however everything seems to be mounting without error. Aaron, If your new OS has an /etc/modprobe.d/ directory you can put the old modprobe.conf options into a new file (we''re using /etc/modprobe.d/lustre.conf) and they should work fine. Total contents of lustre.conf on one of our clients: options lnet networks=tcp0(eth0) caveat - I haven''t touched CentOS 6 yet, but am using Scientific Linux 6 John Richards john.richards at icecube.wisc.edu On Aug 8, 2011, at 10:11 , Aaron Everett wrote:> Thanks Richard! > > Using the 1.8.6 CentOS 5 instructions I was able to successfully use git, configure, make rpms for what I needed. Hi List, We too, got lost looking for downloads in the Oracle etherland... Are there any differences between the "official" version and the whamcloud version? Also, I don''t see previous releases such as 1.8.4 or 1.8.5 available, are 1.8.6 and 2.0.0 the only versions available through whamcloud? Will OpenSFS be taking over the maintenance/hosting of Lustre now that Oracle seems to have dropped support? Thanks in advance! -- Mathew I Eis IT Specialist US Geological Survey
