Lustre discuss - Jun 2011 - formatting using ext4 ldiskfs

Hi,

When I format OSTs using ext4 ldiskfs do I need to use --mkfsoptions=''
-T ext4'' option to enable ext4 features or is it already enabled by
default in mkfs.lustre ?

This has been landed to our master branch for 2.1, but is not the default in
b1_8.  You still need to use the "--mkfsoptions=''-t
ext4''" option when formatting an OST or MDT filesystem.  See
LU-255 (patch http://review.whamcloud.com/480) for more details of format-time
options that have changed.
