Fedora directory users - Feb 2009 - Question about Red Hat Directory Source Code

Hi All,

I know that Fedora Directory and Red Hat Directory is essentially same
except that Fedora Directory is usually newer than Red Hat Directory.
My question is I know I can get the source code of Fedora Directory but what
about Red Hat Directory?

I thought Red Hat Directory is also open source, is it possible to look at
Red Hat Directory source?

If you know the tag name you can pull it from the source code control 
system.

You might want to take a look at the CentOS DS spec file too.

Thanks for your reply.

Just to clarify, so Red Hat does store their source code of Red Hat
Directory Server in a different repository than Fedora?  And beside looking
at it via CentOS source control system, if I have Red Hat subscription then
I can also browse it via Red Hat source code control system, right?

No. There''s only one repository. If you browse it you''ll see
RHDS
release tags.

No, you can browse it in the same place as FDS.

If you''re down at this level of detail it might be worth asking the 
question ''why?''
Usually the only reason you''d want to find the RHDS code would be to
make a
bug-for-bug compatible build, which is an unusual thing to want to do.

Use CVS - CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous@cvs.fedoraproject.org:/cvs/dirsec

The main directory server component is ldapserver - there are also 
components for the admin server and console and other stuff.

if you do a cvs checkout ldapserver, you can then use cvs status -v 
<filename> to look at the tags

If you have access to the channels on RHN, you should also be able to
download the SRPM files from there.  They''re also on ftp.redhat.com
under /pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/{4,5Server}/en/RHDirServ/
