Subject: [Lustre-discuss] Lustre performance
Hi,
I ran some performance tests using fileop to compare Lustre and NFS.
I tried fileop 10 that created on 1 client and on 3 clients. Each client hence
handled 1000 files each.
for the single client file size was 0.525Gb and for the 3 client file size was
brought down by one-third i.e. 0.175GB.
I got some results which I am unable to interpret. For the single client NFS
seems to be performing poorly as compared to Lustre except for close, stat and
access where it performs much better than Lustre.
For the multiple client test NFS overall performs poorly as compared to Lustre
other than again for stats where NFS performs better.
what could be the reason for the anomaly observed for stat, access and close?
Thanks
Priya

Priya,
What version of Fileop ?
What were the results for Lustre and NFS ?
If running 3 instances, on 3 clients, were these running in different
directories ?
Enjoy,
Don Capps
