You can set up a simple lustre configuration on a single node by running
the "llmount.sh" script. This will create an OST, MDS, and client on
a
single node, using loopback files for the OST and MDS filesystems.
You can trace RPC calls between the client and MDS or OST by looking for
"RPC" messages in the Lustre kernel debug log. Use "lctl dk
/tmp/debug"
to dump the kernel debug log to the file /tmp/debug.
You can also look at RPC statistics for each RPC "service" via:
llstat.pl /proc/fs/lustre/ost/OSS/ost_io/stats 1
or the other OSS and MDT "stats" files.
