We are addressing that with our new build and test infrastructure. Our next release should be built with the correct compiler(s). b. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... [Lustre-discuss] Wrong version magic in lustre modules for RHEL4/CENTOS4
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I am using CentOS-4.2-x86_64 with lustre 1.4.6.1 (lustre kernel 2.6.9-34smp). I have noticed that RHEL4/CentOS4 uses gcc-3.4 but the lustre kernel and modules are build with gcc.3.3: CentOS kernel: # modinfo 3c59x.ko |grep magic vermagic: 2.6.9-22.ELsmp SMP gcc-3.4 Lustre 1.4.6.1: # modinfo 3c59x.ko|grep magic vermagic: 2.6.9-34.EL_lustre.1.4.6.1smp SMP gcc-3.3 This is a problem as I need to build external modules against the lustre kernel (drivers for infiniband and 3ware to be precise). I would prefer not having to rebuild the lustre kernel myself, it would be better if there were packages built on RHEL4 from the beginning instead of as i suppouse sles9. - -- - -------------------------------------------------------- Johan Gunnarsson Systems expert National Supercomputer Centre Link?ping university johan@nsc.liu.se http://www.nsc.liu.se - -------------------------------------------------------- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFEJ+7/X8ewMZ+vJkMRAgXHAJ4/dgkQvtp+4ZCqs9SNUk89BpOcWwCfXKFC PA2jqqEVJLjOAH5JI4Z62zk=QbpU -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
