Lustre discuss - May 2006 - does lustre work on x86_64 platforms?

So , my question is, anyone have tried lustre 1.4.5 on AMD 64 platform? Any
hints are helpful, and thanks in advance!

We have Lustre 1.4.5 running on AMD 64 platform and have tried over socknal and
openibnal. We use SLES9 distro and kernels we use are 2.6.5-7.191, 2.6.12.2, and
2.6.13-15.

 And, you use precompiled lustre kernel or your customizied kernel, or
compiled from prepatched lustre kernel?

hi all,

I have tested lustre 1.4.5 on AMD 64 (x86_64), the test platform is as
below:

motherboard: GigaByte GA-K8N51GMF-9
CPU: Althon 64 3000+
Hardware: SATA 80G
OS: CentOS 4.2 x86_64
Partition: root and boot partition both on raid1 

CentOS 4.2 works fine on the test platform, but lustre patched kernel can
not boot up! The error message is:

...
can not read superblock
ext3-fs error 6 mounting ext3..
....

I have tried to recompile the lustre patched kernel 2.6.9-5.0.5, and
complied ext3 and raid and sata_nv support into kernel, and mkinitrd
--omit-scsi-modules support --omit-raid-modules , but can not boot up
either.

BTW, I have tested lustre 1.4.5 on 32 bit AMD platform,  it just worked
fine.

So , my question is, anyone have tried lustre 1.4.5 on AMD 64 platform? Any
hints are helpful, and thanks in advance!
