I don''t know anything about Gentoo, but lmc and lconf require that the
full Python XML packages be installed.  Some (mostly older)
distributions don''t have complete PyXML packages, so you might have to
rebuild Python (I had to do this for SLES8, for example).

I am a lustre newbie, so I don''t have any clue
what I am doing.  I am searching for the best solution
for high performance I/O.  So this is a pretty involved
process and I have visited many filesystems.  This
file system looks like it will generate the kind of speeds
I need.  But the configuration is really getting me here.
After much struggling, I got the kernel patched and
compiled in Gentoo.  And then I got the lustre
package compiled with the --with-linux=/blah/
configure option.  Now I have this.  I have poured over
the archives for a solution but with no search option, I 
can''t find anything.  So please forgive me if this has
come up before.  Any lmc commands that I try to
get a single node system up fail with this message.

I don''t know what I am missing, but it certainly is
making it fail.  Are there any more detailed howto''s 
on setting up a lustre system?
