Intermezzo is being maintained at its current (not suitable for
production) level, but we have no customers to pay for its improvement.

Lustre is in extremely active development, and in production at customer
sites.  We make frequent new releases, have a roadmap of advanced
features in the pipeline, and offer varying levels of support.

Intermezzo is unlikely to satisfy you in anything like a production
capacity.  Lustre may or may not -- it depends entirely on your needs.
