[Rd] R for Windows GUI Front-End Problem (PR#3364)
Full_Name: Matthew Ingram Version: 1.7.0 OS: Windows XP Submission from: (NULL) (68.97.54.81) When I double click on R, it starts up and then displayes an error message in a pop-up window which says "R for Windows GUI front-end has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." The error report has some of the following information: Error Signature: AppName: rgui.exe AppVer: 1.70.30416.0 ModName: r.dll ModVer: 1.70.30416.0 Offset: 000312f0 Technical Information: Exception Information: Code: 0xc0000005 The rest of the information seems to be version related and memory related. I am not sure what else is important. However, I have used R before and I really want to continue to use this program in my research. Please let me know if you have any more questions or need more information. Thanks! Matt mdmingram@yahoo.com (405) 364-8860

There is nothing here to help reproduce the problem, but experience says it is not R but other software on your machine that has the bug (for example, a graphics driver or utility), so we would be unable to reproduce it. Note that the current version is R 1.7.1. We suggest that you reinstall Windows and then install rw1071.exe onto a clean installation of Windows.
