R devel - Aug 2001 - problems installing R on Solaris 2.8 machine (PR#1081)

I've just installed R 1.3.0, and everything went fine except that
the resulting directories and files were owned by root, and for ordinary
users there was no access for most of them. This was also the case with
a large amount of files. I've fixed the installation manually, but it
took quite a lot of time.
