If you build R with the following sequence
./configure
make R
make check
Then "make check" fails at the following point (in examples for help()
itself)
> try(help("bs", try.all.packages=FALSE)) # reports not found (an
error)
Error in help("bs", try.all.packages = FALSE) :
No documentation for `bs' in specified packages and
libraries> help("bs", try.all.packages=TRUE) # reports can be found in
package `splines'
Error in help("bs", try.all.packages = TRUE) :
No documentation for `bs' in specified packages and libraries
Execution halted
Evidently this is because the help pages for the package `splines'
have not been built. The simplest solution would be to wrap the
second call to help in a call to try.
