After a recent upgrade, I can no longer get pop-before-smtp to work with exim4. (It worked before the upgrade) pop-before-smtp seems to be working, and updating its database. exim4 seems to be working, except when I add the ":net-dbmnz;/var/lib/pop-before-smtp/hosts.db" to the dc_relay_nets in the update-exim4.conf.conf file. Then I get "unknown lookup type "<" in host list item "<; net-dbmnz;/var/lib/pop-before-smtp/hosts.db" in the paniclog file. System info: exim4 -bV returns the following: Exim version 4.63 #1 built 20-Jan-2007 10:42:32 Copyright (c) University of Cambridge 2006 Berkeley DB: Sleepycat Software: Berkeley DB 4.3.29: (September 6, 2005) Support for: crypteq iconv() IPv6 PAM Perl GnuTLS move_frozen_messages Content_Scanning Old_Demime Lookups: lsearch wildlsearch nwildlsearch iplsearch cdb dbm dbmnz dnsdb dsearch ldap ldapdn ldapm mysql nis nis0 passwd pgsql sqlite Authenticators: cram_md5 cyrus_sasl plaintext spa Routers: accept dnslookup ipliteral iplookup manualroute queryprogram redirect Transports: appendfile/maildir/mailstore/mbx autoreply lmtp pipe smtp Fixed never_users: 0 Size of off_t: 8 Configuration file is /var/lib/exim4/config.autogenerated mail:/etc/exim4# pop-before-smtp --version --dumpconfig version: 1.41 config file: /etc/pop-before-smtp/pop-before-smtp.conf watchlog: /var/log/mail.log dbfile: /var/lib/pop-before-smtp/hosts pat: "^(... .. ..:..:..) \S+ (?:courier)?(?:pop3|imap)(?:login|d|d-ssl): LOGIN, user=\S+, ip=\[[:f]*(\d+\.\d+\.\d+\.\d+)\]" logtime_pat: "(\w\w\w +\d+ \d+:\d+:\d+)"

Overriding the macro by adding MAIN_RELAY_NETS=: 127.0.0.1 : ::::1 : net-dbmnz;/var/lib/pop-before-smtp/hosts.db to /etc/exim4/exim4.conf.localmacros should work, though. cu andreas -- `What a good friend you are to him, Dr. Maturin.
