I've got an opening to start a team of system engineers in the Pittsburgh office of Intermedix. The official job posting is here: https://www1.apply2jobs.com/Intermedix/ProfExt/index.cfm?fuseaction=mExternal.showJob&RID=467&CurrentPage=2 To try to expand a little beyond what the job posting says: I'm one of the people here who gets the hard problems thrown at him, and now I'm being asked to start a team to extend the amount of projects I can be handling. The work will probably be a combination of projects (like "plan out the upgrade of every Postgres server in the company and get it done") as well as product support. The product support is upper-tier (not helpdesk) -- I'm generally called when the helpdesk scripts don't answer the problem. In some cases I've helped to write the helpdesk scripts. I have a strong desire to never fix the same problem twice -- because I fixed it right the first time, and I'm looking for someone who shares that attitude. The work environment would generally be classified as "casual", but the pace is usually fast and sometimes hectic. If this sounds like something you would be interested in taking on and you're in the Pittsburgh area, email your resume to william.moran@intermedix.com I've been told that the budget for this position doesn't include anything for relocation, but if you think you'd be a good fit and are willing to relocate on your own dime, or think you're badass enough for me to argue for more budget, send me your resume. (You can also use the links on the job posting page, but if you don't strictly qualify but you think you can convince me that you're better than your qualifications suggest, you should also email me) -- http://www.intermedix.com Bill Moran, Senior Database Engineer Phone: 412-422-3463x4023 william.moran@intermedix.com The information contained in this message is confidential and may be privileged and/or protected under law.
