Hi all, I'm setting up a UPS on one machine, and the ups daemon (nut) works as user "upsd". To make it work properly i have added in devfs.rules the following : perm ttyd0 0660 own ttyd0 upsd:upsd But it still does not work because ttyd0.init and ttyd0.lock are still owned by root. I'll try adding them too to the devfs.rules file, but i'm wondering if this is the expected behaviour of devfs? I think that maybe it will be better if one specify ttyd0 in the file, that rule also to apply for ttyd0.init and ttyd0.lock files. What do you think? --niki

Both of those are pretty much exclusively for administrator use. NUT should definitely work without being able to open them. -- Daniel O'Connor software and network engineer for Genesis Software - http://www.gsoft.com.au "The nice thing about standards is that there are so many of them to choose from." -- Andrew Tanenbaum GPG Fingerprint - 5596 B766 97C0 0E94 4347 295E E593 DC20 7B3F CE8C -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
