I've just updated to todays stable, and I'm having a problem with linux_base-8. # uname -a FreeBSD catbert.rotfl.com.au 4.10-STABLE FreeBSD 4.10-STABLE #17: Sun Jun 6 10:00:35 CST 2004 root@catbert.rotfl.com.au:/var/obj/array0/ftp/pub/FreeBSD/branches/4.0-stable/src/sys/CATBERT i386 I've removed the linux_base-8 port and reinstalled it, just in case there was some sort of strange interaction, but I get this: [WIZ:/] /compat/linux/bin/sh sh-2.05b# ls -al sh-2.05b# ls COPYRIGHT array0 boot cdrom dev etc floppy kernel kernel.old mnt modules.old proc root stand tftpboot usr XFree86.core bin cdr compat dist export home kernel.GENERIC ls.core modules opt pub sbin sys tmp var sh-2.05b# Note that ls -al returned nothing, and actually dropped a core file (ls.core). ls without arguments works. Also... /compat/linux/bin/sh sh-2.05b# rpm -qa sh-2.05b# But from the normal FreeBSD shell: # ls -l /compat/linux/var/lib/rpm/ total 1952 -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 24576 6 Jun 11:35 Packages -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 8192 6 Jun 11:37 __db.001 -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 1310720 6 Jun 11:35 __db.002 -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 360448 6 Jun 11:35 __db.003 -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 32768 6 Jun 11:32 conflictsindex.rpm -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 548864 6 Jun 11:32 fileindex.rpm -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 32768 6 Jun 11:32 groupindex.rpm -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 32768 6 Jun 11:32 nameindex.rpm -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 1179848 6 Jun 11:32 packages.rpm -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 32768 6 Jun 11:32 providesindex.rpm -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 32768 6 Jun 11:32 requiredby.rpm -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 32768 6 Jun 11:32 triggerindex.rpm Something is clearly crapping out, but I don't even know where to begin looking. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Phil. -- _-_|\ Phil Kernick / \ E-Mail: Phil@Kernick.org \_.-*_/ Mobile: 041 61 ROTFL v "Age! Fac ut gaudeam."
