Hi, Now I have finished the installation of 4.10-RELEASE. But after reboot it doesn't prompt "login:" because of next message: umass0: CBI ........ TIMEOUT ......... umass0: CBI .................. TIMEOUT I use the SONY laptop having USB memory slot and now don't plug the any mass card. I'd like to initialize it elegantly. Does anyone know what to do? Thanks in advance. If you wait, the memory stick device will be probed five times, then the boot process with move on and boot normally. It takes a few minutes (between 10 and 20). I am sorry to say I have not gotten my act together to report the details of this problem to the list yet. This problem seems to continue from 4.7 or earlier. Does "options DA_OLD_QUIRKS" affect this problem? and now I was aware that after enough 20 minutes my machine doesn't prompt the "login:". I found that the variables such as *RESET_DEELAY in the usb.h was modified longer . Why did you do such a delay. So 5 times of CBI reset issue takes about 20 minutes, I guess. Eitarou, Today, I tried using options "DA_OLD_QUIRKS"; it is no longer available. Changing one or more of the RESET_?_DELAY to smaller values in usb.h should make booting faster, but I have not had time to experiment with this.
