freebsd stable - Mar 2004 - Checking disk performance

Hi,

I would like to know how my IDE hard disk is performing under FreeBSD,
and improve throughput if required.

Is there anything like Linux's hdparm that I can use to at least check
disk performance.

Check under the bench marking ports...
