freebsd stable - Sep 2003 - Broadcom 5788 gige chip support

Does anyone know if this will 'just work' with the bge driver? The
manpage indicates bge is for 570x devices. I think the 5788 is very new (new
enough not to be listed on the Broadcom website) so I am not able to determine
if it is even remotely similar.

I may be working with a couple of motherboards that use this chip for onboard
gige, so if there is no support I will need to purchase a different board or an
additional network controller.

You probably want to anyway; the broadcom gige chips have been a disaster.
Go get a nice Intel.
