freebsd stable - Sep 2003 - Invalid time in realtime clock

This is 4.9-PRERELEASE FreeBSD 4.9-PRERELEASE #9: Fri Sep 19 20:32:15 EDT
2003

The system time returned by date(1) is advanced 4 hours from the
correct time.
>From dmesg:
Timecounter "i8254"  frequency 1193182 Hz

and..

Mounting root from ufs:/dev/ad0s1a
Invalid time in real time clock.
Check and reset the date immediately!

The mobo is a Gigabyte GA-7N400 with AMD processor

This is a
>From kernel config:
machine         i386
cpu             I686_CPU

The CMOS clock is set to local time and appears correct.

The time zone is set from tzsetup.

Any help is greatly appreciated.. I'm out of ideas.

	I'm guessing EDT is four hours ahead of UTC.

	So is there a  /etc/wall_cmos_clock file ? If not and you intend
to keep your CMOS clock on local time then you will need to touch this
file and run adjkerntz -i as root. The system clock is expected to be
running on UTC.
