[Weft QDA users] Documents won''t display-WindowsXP
Hello, I have a similar problem as Mike Dieters (see below). In my case some of the documents that I imported into the Documents&Category Window appear in the document-list but cannot be displayed when I double-click on the them. Additionaly the same thing happens within the category system. The category is listed within the category-list, but when I want it to be displayed (by clicking the "view button" it won''t display. I really do appreciate any advice as I am writing my master''s thesis and am under great time pressure! Many thanks, sabine See Mike Dieters problem below:>From miked at uic.edu Tue Mar 27 17:53:50 2007From: miked at uic.edu (Michael Dieter) Date: Tue, 27 Mar 2007 16:53:50 -0500 Subject: [Weft QDA users] Data loss Message-ID: <6.2.1.2.2.20070327164604.04276af0 at mail.uic.edu> I have twice experienced the apparent complete loss of coding data, as well as access to the coding category itself. I am using Weft v. 1.01 under Windows XP. I have diligently saved every time that I coded, but at some point, something goes very wrong. The category appears in the Documents and Categories window, but when clicked, nothing opens. In addition, every document previously coded no longer shows the code highlighted in the text. This is a very disheartening problem, and I would appreciate it if someone could explain what has happened, and how to avoid a recurrence of the problem. Is it possible to recover this data? TIA Mike Dieter
Hi, I think?one of the option is to?install the software and then perform a test-run using some text and see if it works well. Without testing the software can result in some disappointing outcomes. Re-install?and retest.?I''ve used Weft QDA on Windows Vista (Home edition) and it works pretty much okay. Hope this helps, Ronald ________________________________ From: "pongratz at zedat.fu-berlin.de" <pongratz at zedat.fu-berlin.de> To: weft-qda-users at rubyforge.org Sent: Sun, June 19, 2011 4:03:20 AM Subject: [Weft QDA users] Documents won''t display-WindowsXP Hello, I have a similar problem as Mike Dieters (see below). Hi, When I double-click on a document or category and this can''t be viewed, I select "Cascade" from the "Window" option in main menu and then it appears again.
