See docs on smbpasswd. There are a lot of docs at www.samba.org on ordinary stuff like this. Please refer to them. [Samba] Creating Domain groups other than Unix local groups
Thank u.. One clarification.. For normal NT PDC and NT Client, sample program when executed on NT PC, retrieves all the NT groups of the NT PDC.. But for a setup of UNIX(Solaris) acting as PDC, and NT workstation as a client to it, the same sample program retrieves only "Domain Admins" and "Domain Users". It does not lists any of the local Unix groups where as these two groups are not created by me.. My question is - 1.When Unix is configured as PDC, are these groups are created by default? 2. If so, how to create additional domain groups ? Kindly reply, regards, sharada --- Sanjiv Bawa <sbawa@tabmaster.com> wrote:> See docs on smbpasswd. > > There are a lot of docs at www.samba.org on ordinary > stuff like this. > > Please refer to them. > > Sanjiv > > -----Original Message----- > From: samba-admin@lists.samba.org > [mailto:samba-admin@lists.samba.org]On > Behalf Of SHARADAMABA N > Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2002 10:34 PM > To: samba@lists.samba.org > Cc: jerry@samba.org > Subject: [Samba] Creating Domain Users > > > Hello, > > u have not replied for my last mail...kindly > reply... > > I have configured Samba as a Primary Domain > Controller > > (on Solaris Operating Environment)..I have joined > NT > workstation also... > > Now I want to create Domain Admins, Domain Users.. > > and create the setup the same way as the NT > Domain,users.. > > adduser command does not exist..what should I do ? > where will be the "adduser" command? > > How do I - > 1. create user and join as domain user > 2. create user and making him domain admin > > Regards, > > sharada > > __________________________________________________ > Do You Yahoo!? > Great stuff seeking new owners in Yahoo! [Samba] How do I change back my PC a member of NT PDC from SAMBA PDC?
Hello, Samba 2.2.2 is configured as PDC and my NT Workstation is made a member of new Domain created by Samba PDC. Now how do i change the domain? If I change Domain name in Network properties page, and click "OK" button, then a message pops up saying " Unable to connect to the domain controller for this domain. Have your administrator check your computer account on the domain " This try was given after killing the process smbd and nmbd.. Is Samba PDC holding the machine and not allowing to change? If yes what do I do? Kindly reply, Best Regards, sharada __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Send FREE Valentine eCards with Yahoo! Greetings! http://greetings.yahoo.com
