Again, something I may have visited recently. :-)
Is the user you're logged on as when you issue the smbpasswd command an
Administrative user in the NT Domain?
Meaning, is root, an NT Administrator?
Otherwise you'll need to use the -U option to pass an NT User account that
is capable of adding accounts to the Domain
smbpasswd -j Domain -r PDC -U administrator
Again, just a passing thought. YMMV.

Hi to all,
i have configured Samba with Security=3Ddomain
but when i tried to join the NT-Domain with the command
smbpasswd -j Domain -r PDC i got this errormessage:
cli_net_auth2: Error NT_STATUS_NO_TRUST_SAM_ACCOUNT
cli_nt_setup_creds: auth2 challenge failed
modify_trust_password: unable to setup the PDC credentials to machine
BRUNT02. Error was : NT_STATUS_NO_TRUST_SAM_ACCOUNT.
2002/01/28 17:07:44 : change_trust_account_password: Failed to change
password for domain BRUEMAIL.
Unable to join domain BRUEMAIL.
Has someone an Idea???
